



I-57/64 shield assembly posted beyond the CSX Railroad underpass. The cross roads of I-57 and I-64 and the CSX, Norfolk Southern, and Union Pacific railroads anchor Mt. Vernon as a regional hub for recreation, retail, employment and health care.

IL 15 provides an array of traveler services along Broadway by the diamond interchange (Exit 95) with I-57/64. East of the freeway, IL 15 leads directly to Downtown where it partitions into Broadway (east) and Main Street (west). Mt. Vernon Outland Airport (MVN) lies along the state route east of Casey Fork.

The diamond interchange (Exit 94) joining I-57/64 with Veterans Memorial Drive opened in 2009.

Veterans Memorial Drive was extended west from 42nd Street to parallel Wells Bypass beyond Exit 94. The road east connects I-57/64 with IL 148 (Waltonville Road) south and IL 37 (10th Street).

Exit 92 departs beyond the IL 148 and Union Pacific Railroad underpasses. Interstate 57 continues the drive south to Memphis by way of Cairo and Sikeston, Missouri. I-64 returns to an eastern trajectory en route to Evansville, Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky.

I-57 meets Interstate 24 east in 48 miles. There I-24 commences a 316 mile route from I-57 to Paducah, Kentucky and Clarksville, Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The succeeding two exits along Interstate 57 south serve Rend Lake.
