U.S. 4 stretches 106.8 miles across New Hampshire from the Connecticut River at West Lebanon to its eastern terminus at Portsmouth. The route joins the capital city of Concord with Durham and the Seacoast. Freeway overlaps take U.S. 4 north from Concord along Interstate 93 to Penacook and east from Concord along Interstate 393 & U.S. 202 to Chichester. Through Lebanon, U.S. 4 was once also Business Loop Interstate 89.

U.S. 4 East / NH 10 South
U.S. 4 east & NH 10 south leave West Lebanon and cross the Mascoma River through a retail area preceding the parclo interchange with Interstate 89. The two routes split here, with NH 10 joining I-89 south to Grantham. 07/30/07
I-89/NH 10 arc northward around Lebanon to another meeting with U.S. 4 in four miles. 07/30/07
U.S. 4 East
U.S. 4 continues east from I-89/NH 10 along Mechanic Street toward the Lebanon town center. This stretch of road was historically a part of Business Loop I-89. Until 2004, a business route marker was posted here. 07/30/07
U.S. 4 West
Mechanic Street expands into a four lane arterial ahead of the parclo interchange with Interstate 89 and NH 10. U.S. 4 west reaches the eastbound ramp to Enfield and Concord just west of the Mascoma River. 07/30/07
I-89/NH 10 south combine for 24.3 miles to Grantham. 07/30/07
A loop ramp follows onto Interstate 89 north (west) to White River Junction, Vermont. 07/30/07
NH 10 north combines with U.S. 4 west into West Lebanon as I-89 parallels westward toward the West Lebanon retail area along NH 12A (Plainfield Road). 07/30/07
