U.S. Highway 77 - Texas

U.S. 77 provides one of the main routes to Brownsville and extreme south Texas from points north. U.S. 77 continues north of Interstate 10 along a less-traveled route east of Interstate 35 to Waco. From Waco northward to Denton, U.S. 77 travels silently along Interstate 35.

U.S. 77 Business North
Texas Loop 484 northbound traffic merges onto U.S. 77 Business (New Dallas Highway) at East Waco. Just beyond the tri-level stack interchange with Loop 484 is a slip ramp onto the adjacent frontage road for Orchard Lane. Orchard Lane stems eastward from Lake Brazos Parkway to Texas Loop 340. Another slip ramp joins the U.S. 77 (New Dallas Highway) northbound frontage road beyond the Orchard Lane under crossing near a large industrial plant. The frontage road loops back southward to Webster Avenue at the forthcoming railroad underpass. Photo taken 10/23/07.
U.S. 77 Business (New Dallas Highway) ascends over the railroad bridge on the approach to junction Interstate 35 & U.S. 77. Motorists bound for the freeway utilize the adjacent frontage road and its connection with the Interstate 35 frontage road on-ramps. Photo taken 10/23/07.
All traffic bound for Interstate 35 & U.S. 77 depart U.S. 77 Business (New Dallas Highway) northbound in unison. Interstate 35 and its silent partner U.S. 77 continue 33 miles north to their split near Hillsboro and the partition with Interstate 35W to Fort Worth and 35E to Dallas. Continuing north, U.S. 77 Business (New Dallas Highway) passes over Interstate 35 on the approach to junction U.S. 84 (Waco Drive). U.S. 84 constitutes a surface arterial between central Waco and Bellmead, providing connections with Texas 31, which begins at the interchange with Interstate 35, north to Hubbard and Corsicana. A slip ramp carries drivers from U.S. 77 Business (New Dallas Highway) northbound onto the adjacent frontage road for its intersections with the U.S. 84 (Waco Drive) frontage roads. Waco Drive heads southwest across the Brazos River into central Waco and Woodway. U.S. 84 east & Texas 31 north travel 5.7 miles from Interstate 35 through Bellmead to their split.
