U.S. 82 eastbound at the intersection with CR 21 and CR 30 in the town of Gordo. CR 21 (Elmore Center Church Road) links U.S. 82 with SR 86 to the south. CR 30 (Old Towne Road) loops east along an old alignment of U.S. 82. 09/28/03
U.S. 82 east at Boone Boulevard south and Rose Boulevard north. These two roads form portions of the Tuscaloosa Western Bypass from I-20/59 (Exit 69) to SR 171 and U.S. 43 at the northern suburbs of Northport. 09/28/03
U.S. 43 combines with U.S. 82 east along McFarland Boulevard from Main Avenue east 0.95 miles to SR 69. U.S. 43 enters Northport from Fayette, 43 miles to the northwest. 09/28/03
U.S. 43 South U.S. 82 East
U.S. 43 south splits with U.S. 82 (McFarland Boulevard) east for a 2.8 mile overlap with SR 69 (Lurleen B. Wallace Boulevard) south to Downtown Tuscaloosa. SR 69 enters Northport from Jasper, 52 miles to the north. 10/21/12
McFarland Boulevard continues southeast with four to six lanes to the University of Alabama campus while U.S. 43 & SR 69 head south across the Black Warrior River to Interstate 359 and U.S. 11. SR 69 combines with I-359 to south Tuscaloosa while U.S. 43 joins U.S. 11 south to Stillman College and Eutaw. 10/21/12
Turning south, U.S. 82 (McFarland Boulevard) upgrades to an expressway at Rice Mine Road. Rice Mine Road straddles the northern banks of the Black Warrior River from Northport eastward to north Tuscaloosa.
The previous signalized intersection with Rice Mine Road was converted to use right in right out (RIRO) connections. Rice Mine Road was realigned underneath the U.S. 82 bridge across the Black Warrior River bridge. 08/10/02
Crossing the Black Warrior River, U.S. 82 (McFarland Boulevard) advances a quarter mile south to the first of three exits for the University of Alabama. 08/10/02
The Woolsey Finnell Bridge along U.S. 82 ties into a parclo interchange with Jack Warner Parkway in Tuscaloosa. Jack Warner Parkway runs along the south banks of the Black Warrior River west to Downtown Tuscaloosa. Leading east from U.S. 82, the parkway continues to the SR 297 expressway across the Black Warrior River and the community of Holt. 08/10/02
A folded diamond interchange connects U.S. 82 (McFarland Boulevard) with Campus Drive west to the University of Alabama and east to Helen Keller Boulevard. 09/28/03
SR 215 (University Boulevard) crosses paths with U.S. 82 at the succeeding folded diamond interchange. The arterial route leads west across the University of Alabama campus to Bryant-Denny Stadium and Downtown Tuscaloosa and east to Cottondale. 09/28/03
The overpass carrying SR 215 (University Boulevard) across U.S. 82 dates from 1970. The state route was realigned northward from Paul W. Bryant Drive west onto University Boulevard in 2015. 09/28/03
The expressway along McFarland Boulevard concludes just beyond the Norfolk Southern Railroad overpass at 13th Street. 09/28/03
U.S. 82 (McFarland Boulevard) enters a commercialized interchange with I-59/20 south of James I. Harrison, Jr. Parkway. Three years of construction started in 2018 converts the exchange into a SPUI and builds a signature arch span for the freeway across McFarland Boulevard.1 09/28/03
Drivers depart U.S. 82 (McFarland Boulevard) east for I-59/20 west to I-359 and Meridian, Mississippi. The subsequent left turn takes motorists toward Cottondale and Birmingham. 09/28/03

McFarland Boulevard enters a commercialized intersection with U.S. 11 (Skyland Boulevard) to the immediate south of I-59/20. Skyland Boulevard carries U.S. 11 west to SR 69 and I-359 and east to Cottondale and SR 215. 10/21/12
A commercial arterial, U.S. 11 (Skyland Boulevard) heads west 1.14 miles to SR 215 (Greensboro Avenue) and 1.42 miles to join I-359 north & SR 69 north toward Downtown Tuscaloosa. Northbound U.S. 11 meets I-59/20 (Exit 76) in 3.04 miles. 10/21/12
U.S. 82 (McFarland Boulevard) ascends from U.S. 11 (Skyland Boulevard) to intersect Jug Factory Road and pass under Crestline Drive. The four lane divided highway continues ten miles to Duncanville, 30 miles to Brent and 31 miles to the Bibb County seat of Centreville. 10/21/12
