Leading east from Post Oak Road, Exit 3 follows along IH 610 for Stella Link Road. 11/02/05
Stella Link Road is an arterial joining IH 610 with Braeswood to the north and the Willow Meadows / Willowbend Area of Houston to the south. 11/02/05
U.S. 90 Alternate (Main Street) angles northeast along the South Main community of Houston, meeting IH 610 at Exit 2. U.S. 90A south of IH 610 to Central Southwest, Fondren Gardens and Beltway 8 in Houston was upgraded to an expressway. 11/02/05
IH 610 shifts slightly south ahead of Exit 1C for Kirby Drive. Exit 1C is the first of two off-ramps to NRG Stadium, home of the NFL Houston Texans. 11/02/05
An auxiliary lane opens along IH 610 east from U.S. 90A to Exit 1C for Kirby Drive and the Astrodome Area. 11/02/05
Kirby Drive stems north from Holmes Road to U.S. 90 Alternate (Old Spanish Trail) along the west side of NRG Park, home of NRG Stadium and the Astrodome. 11/02/05
Exit 1B departs in one half mile for Fannin Street. The five level interchange with SH 288 (South Freeway) is the succeeding exit. 11/02/05
The former home of Astroworld was just south of IH 610, across from the Astrodome. The park closed in 2005 due to Six Flags' financial troubles, lack of parking and high land values. The shuttered rides pictured here eventually dismantled. 11/02/05
Exit 1B separates from IH 610 eastbound just ahead of the pedestrian walkway from NRG Arena to the former entrance of Astroworld. 11/02/05
FM 521 (Almeda Road) precedes SH 288 (South Freeway) at the ensuing exit in on quarter mile. The 1968-era pedestrian walkway to Astroworld here is the only remnant of the theme park remaining. 11/02/05
FM 521 constitutes a 98.23 mile long route originating from SH 35 near Palacios and Matagorda Bay. Passing through Central Southwest along Almeda Road, FM 521 ends at U.S. 90A (Old Spanish Trail) north of Exit 1A in the Astrodome Area. 10/22/03
Forthcoming SH 288 follows the South Freeway, heavily traveled commuter route south to Pearland, Manvel and the Brazoria County suburbs and north to IH 69/U.S. 59 at Downtown Houston. 10/22/03
The SH 288 Toll Lanes Project adds four managed lanes along a 10.3 mile section of the South Freeway within Harris County. The $1.06 billion project includes reconstructing 75 percent of the interchange with IH 610.1 11/02/05
SH 288 (South Freeway) winds four miles northward through the MacGregor and Greater Third Ward communities of Houston to IH 69/U.S. 59 (Eastex Freeway) ahead of IH 45 (Gulf Freeway) at Midtown. 11/02/05
SH 288 extends as a full freeway 11.7 miles from IH 610 (Exit 38C) to Croix Road at Manvel. The Nolan Ryan Expressway continues the state highway from there to Angleton, Lake Jackson and Brazosport Boulevard in Freeport, 52 miles to the south. 11/02/05
The reconstruction of the exchange at IH 610/SH 288 through mid-2019 includes eight new direct connectors between the two freeways. The first built were the flyovers from IH 610 east to SH 288 north and from IH 610 west to SH 288 south. The replacement flyovers are higher than their predecessors.2 10/22/03
A diamond interchange (Exit 37) joins IH 610 with Scott Street and the Sunnyside community of Houston. 01/15/06
The succeeding exits for FM 865 (Cullen Boulevard) and Martin Luther King Boulevard serve the Greater OST / South Union community north of IH 610. 10/22/03
FM (UR) 865 follows Cullen Boulevard north 10.10 miles from FM 518 at Pearland to U.S. 90 Alternate (Old Spanish Trail) at MacGregor in Houston. 10/22/03
Exit 36A quickly follows the FM 865 underpass for Calais Road at South Park in Houston. 01/15/06
Calais Road comprises a short neighborhood street from the IH 610 frontage roads to Pershing Street. MLK Boulevard represents the main arterial through South Park, extending south to the South Acres / Crestmont Park community. 01/15/06
The ensuing exit along the South Loop of IH 610 is with Crestmont Street at South Park and Mykawa Road along the BNSF Railroad. 01/15/06, 10/22/03
Long Drive and South Wayside Drive converge with IH 610 at a split diamond interchange (Exit 34A) in a half mile. 10/22/03
Broad Street stems north from an industrial area along Long Drive at Golfcrest / Bellfort / Reveille to Telephone Road and IH 45 (Gulf Freeway). 01/15/06
Exit 34A leaves IH 610 east for Long Drive and Wayside Drive to the Gulfgate Riverviiew / Pine Valley area of Houston, 1.75 miles ahead of the exchange (Exit 32) with the Gulf Freeway (IH 45). 01/15/06
The split diamond interchange (Exit 33) with Telephone Road and Woodridge Drive precedes the flyovers for IH 45 at a retail area in Gulfgate / Pine Valley. 01/15/06
SH 35 (Reveille Street) branches south from IH 45 by the systems interchange with IH 610. A future freeway corridor, the state highway runs south to Pearland and Alvin. 01/15/06
Costing $66.6 million, the IH-45 Gulf Freeway at IH-610 Interchange Project3 underway through February 2020, adds direct connect flyovers between the two freeways omitted from the original interchange design and rebuilds overpasses for SH 35. 01/15/06
IH 45 (Gulf Freeway) spurs 40.6 miles southeast from IH 610 (Exit 32A) to League City, Texas City, La Marque and Galveston. 01/15/06
Exit 31 departs east of IH 45 to Broadway Street for the Pecan Park and Park Place neighborhoods of Houston. 01/15/06
Continuing northeast, IH 610 converges with the La Porte Freeway (SH 225) at Harrisburg / Manchester in one mile. 01/15/06
SH 225 constitutes a freeway east from Pecan Park in Houston to Pasadena, Deer Park and La Porte. Battleship Texas and the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site lies north of Deer Park via Independence Parkway. 01/15/06
Exit 30C departs next for the La Porte Freeway spur taking SH 225 west to Broadway Street and Lawndale Street at Harrisburg / Manchester. 01/15/06
Designated by the state legislature in 2001, the systems exchange with SH 225 honors Juan N. Seguin. Seguin fought in the Texas war for independence from Mexico at the Alamo, served as a Senator in the Republic of Texas and was mayor of San Antonio in the 1840s.4 01/15/06
Cardinal directions for IH 610 switch from east to north at the multi level interchange (Exits 30C/B) with SH 225 (La Porte Freeway). 01/15/06
