The ramp for Katy Road was lengthened to an egress point within the exchange joining IH 610 with U.S. 290. Renumbered to Exit 12, the ramp consists of a long flyover extending 1.4 miles south to Old Katy Road (old U.S. 90).

Exit 9A leaves IH 610 southbound for San Felipe Road and the Greater Uptown and Afton Oaks / River Oaks Area in Houston.

Exit 8C quickly follows Exit 9A from IH 610 south to Westheimer Street and FM 1093 west. A 54.33 mile long highway to Eagle Lake, FM 1093 travels to Mid West, Briar Forest and George Washington Park in Houston.

Exit 8B constitutes a lengthy off-ramp from IH 610 south to Hidalgo Street west at Post Oak Boulevard. Reconstruction of the West Loop here in 2006 redesigned the freeway with additional auxiliary lanes and several new bridges.

Adjacent Post Oak Boulevard links Exit 8B to Richmond Avenue. Richmond Avenue constitutes a commercial boulevard paralleling IH 69/U.S. 59 between Mid West and the Greeway / Upper Kirby Area in Houston.

Leading south from Uptown, IH 610 converges with IH 69/U.S. 59 (Southwest Freeway) at a systems interchange (Exit 8A).

Two lanes separate from the West Loop of IH 610 for the five level interchange with the Southwest Freeway. IH 69 was established along IH 610 south to Sugar Land and Rosenburg in 2013.

IH 69/U.S. 59 (Southwest Freeway) represents a major commuter route from Fort Bend County to Downtown Houston. TxDOT recorded 336,972 vehicles per day just west of IH 610 along the Southwest Freeway in 2017. IH 69 will eventually overlay U.S. 59 south to Victoria.

Continuing south into the city of Belleaire, IH 610 reaches the diamond interchange (Exit 6) with Bellaire Boulevard. Evergreen Street parallels the arterial through residential areas to the south.

IH 610 reenters the city of Houston at Beechnut Street and the Meyerland Area. Exit 5 joins the frontage road system at Pine Street in Bellaire, a half mile ahead of the retail corridor along Beechnut Street.

Crossing over Beechnut Street, IH 610 advances south to Exit 4A for North and South Braeswood Boulevard.

N and S Braeswood Boulevard parallel Braes Bayou west from IH 610 to the Braeburn neighborhood.

The ensuing exit links IH 610 south with S. Post Oak Road. The upcoming interchange serves Meyerland, and was designed for a freeway connection that was never built.

IH 610 turns sharply east onto the South Loop at the three-wye interchange (Exit 4B) with the freeway spur to S Post Oak Boulevard and the Westbury neighborhood.
