Gandy Boulevard east from the Gandy Bridge to Dale Mabry Highway in South Tampa was previously reconstructed starting in January 2008 as part of a $21 million project to both improve safety and enhance the aesthetics. Decorative lighting, brick crosswalks, new sidewalks and signals were incorporated into work improving drainage and repaving the road. Additionally a median was installed in place of a continuous center turn lane.3

The Selmon Extension leads 1.9 miles east to the southern end of the Selmon Expressway (SR 618). SR 618 concludes at a trumpet interchange with I-75 near Brandon. 04/23/21
Opened to traffic April 19, 2021, the Selmon Extension provides a high speed route above Gandy Boulevard, directly linking the Gandy Bridge to SR 618. 04/23/21, 02/20/22
Bridge Street stems south from Gandy Boulevard beyond this confirming marker to the Westshore Marina District development. 02/20/22
Part of a 6.56 mile long unsigned route for CR 587, Westshore Boulevard leads south from Gandy Boulevard to Port Tampa City and Interbay Boulevard and north to SR 616 by International Plaza and Bay Street mall. The commuter route is often congested during peak hour traffic. 02/20/22
The elevated lanes of the Selmon Extension run 1.9 miles east from the Gandy Bridge to the Selmon Expressway (SR 618) mainline. 02/20/22
Heading northward to Sunset Park and Henderson Boulevard through South Tampa, Manhattan Avenue parallels Westshore Boulevard a half mile to the east. The street was expanded to a five lane urban boulevard in 2006-07. 02/20/22
Commercialized frontage abuts both sides of the Gandy Boulevard as U.S. 92 proceeds east from Manhattan Avenue. 02/20/22
Lois Avenue spurs south from Gandy Boulevard to serve big box retail and several industrial businesses. This segment of the avenue is disconnected from the busier section at I-275 and International Plaza and Bay Street in the Westshore area. 03/31/21
SR 618 is the designation for all of the tolled Lee Roy Selmon Expressway from south Tampa to Downtown, Port Tampa Bay and Brandon. The toll road stretches 14.13 miles from U.S. 92 (Gandy Boulevard) to Interstate 75. 03/31/21
A flyover separates from the Selmon Extension for the parclo interchange linking with U.S. 92 east and SR 573 south above an at-grade crossing with the CSX Railroad along Gandy Boulevard. 02/20/22
U.S. 92 turns north from Gandy Boulevard onto Dale Mabry Highway beyond the exchange with SR 618. SR 573 extends Dale Mabry Highway south to the main gate of MacDill Air Force Base. 02/20/22
A flyover was constructed above the original loop ramp joining Gandy Boulevard with the Selmon Expressway for the Selmon Extension to U.S. 92 and SR 573 (Dale Mabry Highway). 03/31/21

Henderson Boulevard angles northeast from Manhattan Avenue to become State Road 685 between U.S. 92 (Dale Mabry Highway) and SR 60 (Kennedy Boulevard) at Palma Ceia Pines. 02/23/20
A six point intersection joins U.S. 92 (Dale Mabry Highway) with Morrison Avenue and Henderson Boulevard at South Tampa. SR 685 north provides a direct route to SR 60 (Kennedy Boulevard) east to North Hyde Park and Downtown.
